Winter Solstice - Reflection and Intention

Recently while hiking through the woods near my home in Connecticut I was reflecting on this year and thinking about what I was intending for the coming year. I do this every year and it serves me well!I want to encourage you to use these remaining days of the year to get clear on what you want, to write them out and be very specific.  Ask yourself how do you want to feel in this New Year?  What do you want to accomplish?  How do you want to show up for yourself, your loved ones and your community? The Winter Solstice  marks the shortest day of the year and the longest night.  In many cultures it is noted as a time to celebrate the gradual return of the light. It asks us to think about what area of your life or behavior or situation has kept you in the dark? One of my favorite quotes by Marianne Williamson  says something to the effect of “We don’t get to the light through endless investigation of the darkness, we get to the light by going to the light.”It’s important to make sure we have learned all we can from the shadow parts of ourselves or our experiences.  Spend some time in reflection getting clear about what you have learned and say thank you for this lesson, this information. Take the proper time to acknowledge them, heal them and then move on.What resentment, fear, behavior, or pattern is it time to shine the light on?  Now is the perfect time to formally let go so that you can move forward with freedom and ease in the New Year.So release what no longer serves you, stand in your conviction, and look forward to what tomorrow holds. You gotta believe it to receive it!Sending you lots of love and light!  Wishing you much happiness, health and prosperity in this New Year.[gravityform id="11" title="false" description="false"]
